Reviving an old thread. But I have a recent obsession with lever guns. My first was a rossi Rio grande with a fixed 4 power that I bought for 250$ with 100 rounds of ammo. I shot it until I got my winchester then realized what a 30-30 was suppose to shoot like and I traded it off. My next lever gun Is an 89 top eject winchester that I traded my mommy a 10/22 takedown for. Mom has arthritis and cant shoot like she use to. This was my mom's 1 rifle since the early 90s. I love this rifle and can't believe how light and handy it is. And finally a new 336Y with 16 inch barrel and synthetic stock. Still to come for the 336 is a scout rail, scope, and ghost ring sights. I like the idea of a 30-30 scout since I'm a lefty and other people in my family can utilize it just as efficiently as I can being right handed.
