So, with respect to the Lexington WMA range, all one needs is a hunting license? Are there any other fees or whatever to use the facility? Is a hunting license needed for each "shooter?"

We have a couple of grandkids (ages 13 and 11) that we (their parents and us) would like to see them start learning to shoot. The 13 year old has been "introduced" to firearms at some kind of kid's teaching program where he got to shoot a shotgun for the first time. Dang kid managed to clip one pigeon and shatter a few of the other 4. Wife and I are considering purchasing some .22 rifles for them.

I think the kids would be good to go since they are exempt from a hunting license anyway. Any adult would need a license though. Make sure to bring your own paper targets.

I was just out there today turkey hunting. The range sounded like a war zone. I like to go on weekday mornings only when I can.
