svord peasant's knife is pretty light, holds a decent edge, doesn't cost that much, and you can baton them.

Well, I think I've decided what I want to get long term. Ended up picking this up this cheaper knife for the short term until I can rationalize the situation to my husband to get the Benchmade 531.

It came in today and I'm not greatly impressed but it's 1.7oz and should do mostly what I want it to do..for now
