[QUOTE="nofearfactor, post: 2082215, member: 1535"] All of our vehicles have alarms and its highly unusual for someone not to arm them on the way up the driveway. Ive probably forgot myself though more than a few times but dont remember ever missing anything. Have never been broken into yet anyways. The wife leaves her car unlocked here and there and I remember once someone came along and got all her change. I think it was just one of her own kids. My 15 yr old said that he knows most of the idiots around here who are trouble and he knows that if they see the red blinking lights on the cars dashes that they just go on down the road. Nice to have insider info. When I'm home and not out on the road working Im usually always up late at night roaming around in and out of the garage where my shop-studio is working late on a project or maybe milling around outside for whatever reason- so I guess Im sort of the neighborhood watch in my section of the 'hood' or burb late at night. Actually its a residential area on the outskirts of a small town just outside the big town. I try to keep a watch on things without looking nosy or suspicious myself but nothing ever happens around here anyways. The most quiet place Ive ever lived in. Im definitely not the George Zimmerman of the neighborhood. I might have my pocket carry in my shorts or sweat pants pocket when outside late at night but I'll have my cell too and I'll call 911 first before I stop someone with force from doing something to someone elses property. Im an idiot but not a moron. My own property though I will gaurd it as I see fit and deal with things afterwards. The only thing that has happened around here in the 10 years I have been here was a few years ago right after graduation in town some kids came out and hit a bunch of mailboxes and tore some down. Except for those of us with maiboxes made out of brick. 20 years ago I moved from home in San Diego to San Francisco to go to school and when I first moved there I could only afford to live out in Oakland,CA in a pretty bad part of town. It wasnt much different than my 'hood' in San Diego- at night there would be alarms and sirens going off at all hours. Car alarms going off, nobody even pays any attention to them.
