Ruger Mark I or II. Buckmark is okay too. I have a P-22, and for plinking it's fine, but if you are doing any serious shooting, get something more robust. Rugers are very reliable. I don't have a Buckmark, but some friends do, and they are very satisfied with them. CB

never shot the Beretta.

my ruger jams a lot and i have seen a lot of them jam.

my S&W 22a does not jam and is very accurate. That is the gun I would recommend. also it is very easy to take apart, not so for a ruger.

I really like the Advantage Arms conversion (the LE model) on my Glock 17.
A used Glock 17 or 19 can be had for $350-$400.
The conversion kit is another $250.

If you don't like Glocks there are also options for Sig 220/226/229, CZ 75 and the 1911 to do the same thing. Not for the XD though....

Ruger MK II or I .. both are tuffer than nails, accurate and fun to shoot.
not unusual to go through 200-300 rounds in one session

I have been looking into the ruger's and buckmarks. I like the Mosquito but have heard nothing but horror stories. I am thinking about getting a 10/22 instead of a pistol but still can't decide.
