Police have zero authority over anyone unless they have been detained or have broken the law period. Sounds like they were at the wrong house and shot a guy dead in his home for exercising his right to be prepared to defend himself. If the court finds that the home owner broke no law I would guess the charge would fall on the officer that pulled the trigger. He should be treated as if the shooting was reversed. No better no worse.</p></blockquote><p></p>
