[QUOTE="OK Corgi Rancher, post: 3777388, member: 45773"] I'm a Benefactor Life Member of the NRA...have been for years. Obviously, I got hit up for additional donations practically weekly. About 6 or 7 years ago I called and spoke to someone in member services and told them they wouldn't get another penny from me until LaPierre was gone. I also told them to stop all communications with me and told them I was contemplating terminating my membership. I know they don't really care since they don't get money from me. But at least I don't get solicited any more. At one time I'd run campaigns (thru my gun shop) where I'd get people to sign up for yearly and discounted rate life memberships. I paid for a new member's first annual dues or $25 towards a new member's life dues. I signed up literally hundreds, maybe a thousand or more, thru my shop. Not any longer. I don't even recommend anyone join the NRA simply because of LaPierre's improprieties. I still vote but that's about it. I defended the NRA even when the organization probably didn't deserve to be defended. Not any more. It seems to me they've really lost their way and LaPierre is a major cause of that and serves as a huge distraction to the good work they should be doing and a liability to the organization. I just wish the membership could get the board to understand that. I, too, like Lt Col West. I, too, get the sense he's desperate for some sort of "job" in the public realm. Not that that's a bad thing, it's just not a real good look to run for every open spot he comes across. On the other hand, he'd be a great person to replace LaPierre and I'd support that 100%.
