Man, it's been almost a year since this thread was updated. Can't let that happen, folks - post up your latest M1/M1A acquisitions! I already posted these pics in another thread, but here they are again: Dec. 1943 (IIRC) SA receiver, rebuilt at the Letterkenny Army Depot in Pennsylvania. The very light gray coloration of the parkerizing is unique to the LEAD. The birch stock also sports the orange triangle stamp of the LEAD, but the receiver leg doesn't have the arsenal code and date e-p'ed into it, meaning the rebuild was done around 1960-1962, prior to the change in the arsenal SOP to include the e-p'ing of the receiver. [Broken External Image] [Broken External Image] I recently picked up another WW2 SA M1, which was rebuilt some time between WW2 and the Korean War, as evidenced by the plum-colored parkerizing, done when the Army arsenal simply parked over the existing finish. I liked the look of the metal, plus it has a gorgeous post-war walnut stock. I'll need to take pics and post them. In the meantime, keep those pics coming :)
