A friend of mine bought a Correct grade from the CMP and it's CORRECT!!, no fake parts and is a thing of beauty.
I strongly suggest you go with the CMP like others said.

Mine came from the CMP but bought mine from an individual. I LOOOOOOVE mine and it goes on almost every range trip. Even my girlfriend loves shooting it. So much one time she had to go from shooting freehand to the bench because her arm was tired of holding it up. She is 125 pounds TOPS and prolly put 100 rounds down range that day with it. It is prolly my most favorite rifle I own besides the .22 that belonged to my great grandpa, remington model 12C. I have carried mine hunting, made up some gooooood handoads for it, but seems every time i take it out i see no deer :/

Anyhow, by all means get a Garand. Lots of history and lots of fun! I want two more so i can use the stacking swivel lol.
