My father just received a SA M1 Garand, July 1944 S/N, from CMP with an unmarked barrel. The hang tag says “SAC Barrel”. I haven’t been able to find any info about these barrels and was wondering if anyone may know? Thanks.

As far as I know, SAC marked barrels are relatively uncommon. I think the assumption is that they were produced by Savage (Savage Arms Corp).
