It's Magazine Day! As in cleaning them, that is. I am going to disassemble, clean and reassemble all my mags for my M11-A1, Walther PPS M2, and Sig P365. I may decide to tackle the mags for my Ruger MK IV as well.
I've found an old bottle brush sprayed with M-Pro 7 (or whatever you have) works well, followed by a clean rag, some Q-tips under the mag's lips and then a good wipe down on the outside with a lightly oiled rag. No lube on the inside! Clean the springs with a rag; M-Pro 7 (or whatever) first, followed by a dry one. Pay attention to the followers too, wipe cleaner on; rub against a rough old towel; Q-tips; done!
Don't neglect this chore. Mags are the heart and soul of a defensive pistol. Why go to the trouble to clean your gun and then load it up with a filthy magazine? Derp!
Clean your mags. Or...review the procedures for clearing malfunctions.
That is all.
