USMC love 45s so much, they are bringing the 45-70 back. This is the next Force Recon Special Ops Tactical M45-70A1 CQB Rail Rifle :thumb:

...U.S. property marked and U.S. issued USMC Force Recon M45 Colt 1911, model 01xxxxCQB. U.S. is stamped on the right side of the frame just above the rail...

Heck, this stamping coupled with even the wiff of a real government contract...they could make the thing out of silly putty and the fan-boys would be selling their own children just to buy a ticket for a chance to win a raffle to get on the waiting list to buy one.

Understand the need for the .45, like everything about M45 except one thing; why no high capacity mag? Surley it is not out of the realm of Colt's ability to alter the 1911 to take a double stack. The Russkies are doing that with the Makarov right now.

1911 has been around long enough for all the improvements that make sense to weed itself out. there's nothing really new about M45 ... it's all been offered by master 1911 gunsmiths for decades.
