A few days ago I said smelt. Totally incorrect term, melt is better. I had researched a while back building a furnace to melt brass and copper.
Not exactly the one below, but this one caught my eye.

Am I crazy? If I'm going to melt, I want to be able to melt copper , 5-10 lbs blocks.

I'd like to get a lead thermometer. Cabelas had one on the rack a while back and I should have bought. I sort all my WW but in case a zinc one gets through, I'd like it to float to the top.
A web search turns up all kind of stuff but not what I'm looking for. Does anyone have a link or some info to get me looking in the right direction?

All my wheel weights except for some hidden have been turned into muffins.
I know I have a few more here and there.
Now I must find a bucket to put all those muffins into.

I got almost all my lead pipe and wheel weights melted and made into muffins and some sinkers.
I made 70 lbs of sinkers today. 2-3-4 and 5 ounce sinkers.. ready for the spring rains now. 115 lbs of sinkers in those coffee cans.
