I've had a project idea of making a jean or leather jacket with unit patches for all the units I was a part of.
So I picked up some patches at the big show but now I'm hesitating because some of these are old school.
It isn't a large list, but when he started handing them to me, he knew if they were WWII era, Korean War era, etc.
For example, the Army Infantry School patch (Follow Me!) looked the same back in WWII as now, but the patch itself is significantly thinner and maybe made out of a different material.
I appreciate the historical value of the patches, but I also feel a little funny about using a WWII patch when I'm clearly not a WWII vet.
To clarify I'm using the "dress" patches for additional color.
So the question I ask the forum is: Should I use these old school patches despite the age, or just get some new/modern patches?
Follow up question: other than ordering them from Clothing & Sales, anyone know a good resource for modern patches?

Thanks for the input.
