6 Years active duty US Navy. 3 deployments to the Persian Gulf during Desert Storm/Desert Shield/Operation Iraqi Freedom assigned to sub-tenders. Lived 4 years in San Diego and lived my last 2 years on the island of Guam. Poor me,.. haha. The greatest duty of all time. 6 months in Guam,.. 6 months in Sasebo and Yokouska Japan. I got to see parts of the world I would have never seen by myself,.. I was also forced to grow up. I realized that if I make a mistake in my job,.. people could die. Go Navy !!! Still get goosebumps when the commercial comes on tv. My dad was 6 years USAF Active Duty. Was stationed in Turkey during the Redstone Missle Program. Remember that little thing called the Cuban Missle Crisis?? My dad's air base was right on the USSR-Turkey border and one of the reasons the USSR sent missles to Cuba. He's got a story or two. Thank you to all the other Vets and future Vets.
