milsurps for hunting

Im going to use my FR8 for a few places during deer season. Man im really starting to like this gun.

Anyone else hunt with a milsurp?

Each season, one of my sons and I choose a differnent milsurp for hunting. Brit 303, Swedish Mauser, Garand, O3A3... All cool and fun.

I've taken deer with a m44, m48, vz24, and a jap t99.

first time i ever went deer hunting was with a T99 arisaka.

I've taken deer with Mosin and SMLE.

I've taken out the IH M1 Garand few time (fair weather lol). I enjoy carrying it about and love peep sights. My other main deer rifle is a sporterized 1917.

Not taken anything with her except targets. hope to change that this next season.

I have carried a garand and a carbine but so far not been successful with them. I need really good light to hit something with the peep sights using my old eyes.
