I've killed deer with M1 Garand, M1A, K98, Mosin M-39, 6.5 Swede, 7X57...
Haven't killed anything with the 7.5 Swiss yet.

Killed elk with .303 Enfield. Hogs with Garand, M1A, K98, 7x57.

I've seen my son kill deer and hogs with 7.62x39.

They all work good if bullet placement is good.

I use a Romak 3 aka PSL to hunt hogs with.
Brother uses an SKS.
Nephew used a 24/47 Yugo Mauser in 8mm.
Since it's nocturnal hunting we do, we use red dot sights.
Tried using one of my Garands one year, but not having the ability to mount a red dot sight on it was a problem.

If I was to take up deer hunting, I'd buy a Scount Mount for my Finnish M39 Mosin Nagant and use it.

Enfield No5 "Jungle Carbine". Prob the most accurate no5 in the world(no joke)! It is my main hunting rifle. I've got a couple pigs and a deer with it but i dont hunt much.
