Bummer! I'd like to have one but was curious about their reliability. I've heard the ammo needs oiled well.

The main improvement is the adjustable gas plug on the Hakim, whereas the Ljungman has none. I haven't heard anything bad about the Ljungman's reliability though, nor have I heard anything about oiling the ammo. I didn't have either rifle for long, so I may have just not immersed myself as deeply in the Ljungman lore as you appear to have :)

For me a lot has to do with looks, and both of those were just plain out ugly. I'd rather have an FN49.

I agree; they aren't lookers. ;-) I just figured they would work with the whole 6.5x55 thing I have going. Oh well, I'll probably just stick to the bolt guns. The media (and gun-grabbers) won't get in a tizzy over my century-old rifles.
