"Ian Kerstetter - Available 2019. Yes keystone will be selling them. And yes I do a lot of firearm design. I’m the head of new product development for keystone"

"Ian Kerstetter - ..... it’s mostly aesthetics. Single shot .22LR (to start) same as crickett and 20” barrel"

In response to price.
"Ian Kerstetter - ...... somewhere between 300-500. Depends on if we do a limited run or just go gangbusters with it"

Most kids i've been around hate the Cricket after one range session. The want something that shoots a little faster. I've got a break action .22 I won at a QU banquet. My grandkids hated the one shot. They loved the 10-22.

I've run into that as well,,,
I take the children of my friends to the range quite often.

But the ones who snub their nose at my single-shots never get invited back,,,
I've even had the parents get angry with me for bringing single-shots.

They say, "I thought we were going to let them have some fun.",,,
My reply is always, "I thought learning to hit something was supposed to be fun."

If all they want to do is turn money into noise,,,
They can go buy a semi-auto of their own,,,
And pay for their own danged ammo.

I've been taking one young man out a lot lately,,,
I started him out on a Henry Mini-Bolt,,,
Then a Henry Acu-Bolt.

Now his favorite rifle is my Polish WZ-48 single-shot,,,
The kid is an absolute sniper with that old gal.

For his birthday this year his father is getting him a CZ of some ilk,,,
The kid does like shooting my CZ-512 Semi-auto quite a bit,,,
But his Dad said he would rather have a bolt-action.

Can't believe someone with 1907 in their name has it in for single-shots. 1st rifle I ever shot was a Winchester Model 67 belonging to my Grandpa. It's sitting over in the corner right now. Killed my first squirrel with it as well as my first rabbit. Heck, I killed my first quail with it.
Necessity being the mother of invention, loading was never a problem. Walked down the creek bed with 3 rounds between the fingers of my left hand. Simple and quick. Besides, rarely needed the second shot.
I guess the difference lies in "shootin' for fun" and "shootin' for meat".
