Exactly. The last thing we need is more special classes of citizens. If a GI can carry as a civilian without a permit...joe blow should be able to as well.

This will happen, we lost our rights incrementally, we'll have to get them back incrementally. Unfortunately this is just the way it works. Sometimes public opinion plays more of a role than the bill of rights.

While I agree that ALL LAW ABIDING CITIZENS should have the EXACT SAME 2nd Amendment Rights ACROSS THE BOARD, I would not be opposed to disabled vets/LE's getting some type of fee waiver/etc. as a perk. No, I did not serve but my father and uncles all did. With the BF'n that the .gov and the VA are giving to vets, I think they deserve some type of perk(s) for their service to their country.
