It would seem that this would be an application where a side charging upper would be beneficial, as it would allow the reinforcement of the area where the charging handle normally controls thickness.

I knew it was just a matter of time before they designed one that was reinforced in the right places to withstand 5.56. Good stuff. I will have to look into this 3D printing thing.
