Funny thing about childhood obesity. McDonald's has been selling Happy Meals for about 30yrs. Childhood obesity came to the forefront about 10-15yrs ago. What happened in those 15-20ish years in the middle? The proliferation of computers and gaming systems. Schools cutting P.E. and recess time. Letting fast food/pizza places compete with nutritious meals for lunches. More one parent homes with fast food for dinner every night. McDonalds will more than likely take them too court about the law. The law does limit the choice of parents. I recently went to San Francisco. I was amazed at the low number of just plain obscenely obese people. I was also amazed at the number of people I saw running by the piers. Is there really something wrong with a group of healthy, educated people? I lived in the San Diego area for most of my adult life. I really enjoyed California and enjoyed that I could go eat, go out to a bar, go to a baseball game and not have to endure second hand smoke. Not only did California pass a law banning smoking in many places there is a way lower percentage of smokers in California than in Oklahoma. Do I agree with the San Francisco law? No Do I agree with some of the other laws in that area? No. I does show you what can happen if one group possesses enough power/votes to be sure and let everyone know what is right.
