Seems like they could just improve 102 or 177 just a few miles east.
102 is garbage, but 177 is a really nice highway for a two-lane (exceptional for an Oklahoma two-lane, I'd say). It's the one I usually take when I go see my brother in T-Town.

Just do me a favor and keep it under your hat--I don't want to have to compete with the jackwagons that clog all the other highways around here...

If it is built as a turnpike the state might not have any expenses. From what I have understood from past information is that The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority is actually a private company type set up. They rent OHP and other services from their toll fees

The only well maintained roads in the state are toll roads.
You need to head down to Texas. The toll roads in Oklahoma are crap compared the stretch of I35 that the Chickasaws paid to have paved, and I35 between the Red and Dallas is better than any road in Oklahoma. The Turner sure ain't nothin' to write home about...

Which is why the number of turnpikes need to be capped at a number not greater than and possibly even less than the current number of turnpikes in the state.

It'd have to happen at the ballot box through initiative petition, though. Too many greased palms in the state legislature for them to send it to the voters.
