I'm a spoiled progressive metal player today with good expensive gear but as far as an early inspiration- it was these guys,and a girl. You played their **** you got a chance to play simple **** reallyreally loud into ****ed up gear and get away with it. Thurston Moore was like a god to me when I was a little kid,way more than Hendrix or Page. (Except for my main idol,Tony Iommi). One of my first bands ever was in junior high in a band that did covers of their early to mid 80s stuff playing back yard gigs around San Diego in the mid 80's. I had a really ****ed up Mustang,a stolen Silvertone and played into 2 ****ed up Marshall JMP50s into a couple of beatthe****up old 1960 cabs with speakers cones that had to be repaired after every other show. It kind of freaks me out a little now to see them play with the same intensity they had when they were younger even though theyre like,old now. F me. That means I'm an old dude too. Lollllll.
