Music History: 40 years ago tommorow...

Iconic musician Duane "Skydog" Allman died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle wreck in Macon, Georgia. He was 24 years old, having made a permanent mark on slide guitar playing when, at the age of 22, he washed the label off a Coricidin pill bottle and began using it as a slide while home sick. Always amazed me that he was that young when he died.

Heck of a slide player!!! I tried and tried to learn slide....didn't happen. Some of the best slide players I have known were heading to the pen...(penitentiary).....Hmmmmmmmm.

A couple of days ago I thought about putting a thread up for Lynyrd Skynyrd....October 20th. The one in particular I'm talking about is Steve Gaines.....Miami, Oklahoma. I'm not real sure his sister Cassie lived in N.E. Oklahoma or not.
