Or at least I thought it did. Had a case explode on me, splitting at the seam of the rim. Was shooting some of the Winchester super x 40gr cphp 22lr rounds. As far as I can tell, no damage to the firearm, no squibs stuck in barrel. I’ll tear everything apart tomorrow. Should I be concerned? What caused this? For the record, my 10/22 is a stock 50th anniversary VLEH Target/tactical slapped into an aftermarket stock. I had no issues beforehand, the rifle was shooting its usual 1-1.5” 100yd groups.

I had that happen to my 10/22 when I was a teenager. The case split and pieces exited. It chipped a piece of the wood stock at the ejection port before embedding itself in my stomach skin...
Other than the wood chip and sore belly, the rifle had no issues. I have since ran probably 15,000 rounds plus through it.
