Here is my last column for the 'Colly this semester.
I had a little help from the President of CCL on Campus here at OSU. He clarified some stuff and made some good suggestions that I added to my column.
I haven't been writing to the paper because (1) Their content has been going downhill and I've had trouble being associated with it (2) I haven't had the time or will and (3) I'm less than satisfied with the current editor.
That being said, I had to write this to remain in payroll.

Let me know what y'all think, good or bad.

Good article.

On the rest of it, I'd say that despite what the rest of the O'Colly is doing, sometimes it's best to still be the lone voice of reason. Perhaps your articles provide a thought provoking breath of fresh air to the typical readership? Consider that your articles may be viewed as a contrary opinion to the tenor of the paper and not as you sanctioning the rest.

On the subject of CC on campus, I wish that everyone would stop treating college as kindergarten. Last time I checked, you're legally an adult when you turn 18 and you also have to be 21 to obtain a CC permit. It seems to many people want to pretend that just because an adult is a college student, they still need to be diapered and fed.

i'm convinced! seriously though, i think its unfortunate that most of the admins. at our state colleges and universities are fairly liberal. they get their stats from a completely different source. even more unfortunate is that it will take someone getting killed by a crazy gunman on campus, then thier answer is more control, sad.

A lot of money and effort is being spent on psychological profiling, text alert systems and similar things to prevent campus shootings? Will it work? Who knows - the frequency of these events is too low to know.
