I recently started a new lifestyle change, by incorporating the Keto diet into my daily life.

The diet isn't really that hard if you're a carnivore like myself. My usually daily "3 squres" consists of bacon/sausage eggs, lunch meat (shaved ham/turkey/roast beef) and various cheeses and steak, chicken or pork with green veggies.

I do miss taters, mac & cheese and ice cream, but the one thing I miss the most is pop. I love all kinds of sodie pop...Coke, root beer, Dr. Pepper you name it. But my absolute favorite has always been Mt. Dew.

I've tried the diet pops, including diet Dew, but they all left that nasty aftertaste. So, I'm in the local quick stop last night to pickup a bag of bbq pork rinds, when I see this...

AWESOME! :woohoo1:

Now, if I can just find some carb free ice cream that doesn't taste like mud, I can die a happy man.

I lost 45 pounds on the Keto diet. I found after a while it is not too hard. Just have to give up bread, potatoes, sugar, ect. Stick with it and have patience and you will see results.

Good Luck

It took me about a year to give up Mountain Dew and other soda pop.

I bet I've lost 300 pounds eating keto friendly food.

Unfortunately I keep gaining it back after I get bored with not eating carbs.

I hope you have better results. Good luck!

You can cut carbs to help maintain the weight loss. Pearl barley is 25 on the GI, Parboiled rice is 38, brown rice is around 50 and white rice is around 75. Sweet potato has the carbs but they are complex carbs not simple carbs like white potatoes and can be fixed just as many ways. They are also high in vitamins.

I have not tried anything but the vanilla but Braum's has keto friendly ice cream. Aldi has Keto bread. If you like fruit eat strawberries, raspberries and blackberries. Never dried fruit.

Yep, this has been my routine too. I lose weight easy enough on keto, get tired of it and then pack it back on. I'm going to try to drop it and then ease back into sensible carb levels and see if I can hold the line.

Not to pirate the thread, but has anyone doing keto had issues with muscle cramps at night?

I had some issues with it last time. Tried to make sure I was hydrated. Upped salt intake. Took some potassium and magnesium supplements but never really could tell it helped. I'm thinking it may have been the potassium level, and it's pretty hard to supplement enough to matter. Never had it checked, which I'll do if I have the same issues on my next go round.

Haven't had the issue since I quit keto last time so I'm pretty sure I was deficient in something on it.

Just curious if anyone else experienced this.
