Took a little time this evening and photographed a few of my favorite items from my small militaria collection. Early WWII pack (1942 dated haversack, 1943 dated ammo belt, 1942 dated canteen with 1941 cover, 1943 Kabar, and 1940 dated first aid pouch with kit): Late WWII pack (1944 dated M1945 upper pack, 1945 dated lower cargo pack, 1944 dated e-tool, and 10" uncut Union Fork & Hoe M1 bayonet): Front seam McCord swivel bale M1 helmet with Firestone liner. Both the chinstraps on the helmet and the liner are repro versions made by J Murray Inc that I have aged to match. They are supposed to be made to USGI specs, but the weave on the helmet chinstraps is slightly different than the originals. The straps are sewn onto the bales with a machine bar tack stitch like the originals would have been (done by my wife).
