what about federal/indian land? ive always wondered about this, but never knew anyone that seemed to know the right answer.

Cherokee Nation sent out notices a couple yerars ago stating that if you were a Cherokee citizen hunting within "Cherokee Nation's Treaty Territory" that you did not need a license or tag. however there was a disclaimer on said notice stating that this was not necissarily the opinion of the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife.

another case of fuzzy sovereignty it seems

Don't carry buckshot in the field. Illegal. Period. No matter what you're hunting or claim to be hunting.

They made an exception for feral hogs. And there's never been a pellet size limit for waterfowl or crane.

Shotgun Pellet Size

No person in the field may possess or attempt to harvest any wildlife, except waterfowl and crane, with a shotgun using shot larger than conventional BB (.180 in. diameter.)

Hogs are not wildlife, see shotgun provisions.

Private Lands

Hogs may be taken year-round on private land during daylight hours with the landowner’s permission.

The pursuit of feral hogs with a shotgun on private property is not restricted by shot size.
