Never barked, took very easily to training not to jump, potty outside, tell us when you need to potty etc. Id love to have another Akita. Also my dad still has our family pet. He is half lab-half wolf and he has got to be the tamest dog ever but he is very very protective of all of us even my 4 year old niece. he would protect her when she was younger and less watchful of the evil Pomeranian, and actually in a little over 10 years that we've had him i dont think ive ever heard him bark either, just growl at the other dogs my dad and step mom have gotten. hes probably around 70 -75lbs and when standing on his back legs he easily can get nose to nose with me and im a hair over 6'1". I would also recommend a boxer as well. they are very loyal and loving dogs as well and good with kids.</blockquote>
