I have a Colt 32 Hammerless that I inherited. The serial number dates it to 1918. It is in good shape, no rusting or pitting. Manufacture date is the only info I can find. Does anyone know what the value of something like this may be?

If that's dating to 1918, that should be a type 3 model 1903. If we're rating this at about 80%, I'd think it'd be somewhere around 500-600, maybe even up to $700 with recent prices. If you have the original box, you can probably add another 30% to that.

My gun blue book is about 7 years old, and it shows an 80% type 3 model 1903 at $450. I adjusted my above prices to reflect value increases over the past several years.

I could be completely off the mark too! The thing is, most of those Colt collectors are serious about condition and options, and prices will vary wildly bases upon several factors over and above the base model (type 1, type 2, type 3, nickel finish, blueing, parkerized, mag safety vs. no mag safety, etc.)

FYI - if you ever need to learn about different options on a gun (especially older firearms), and how that affects value, I cannot recommend the following book enough:

https://www.amazon.com/41st-Blue-Book-Gun-Values/dp/1947314173

I have an older version, but it still has more info than I'll ever be able to remember. This thing has saved me from overpaying on some older Colts in the past, and tought me some things I didn't know about some firearms that I inherited. An amazing amount of gun info and up to date values.
