Need Pocket Door Installed

I’m a remodel contractor. My personal trade is finish carpentry. You need somebody with framing and sheet rock experience to get the pocket door roughed in, from there you need a finish carpenter to do the jambs and trim/make it look good. Then it will all need painted.

Pocket doors are a PITA to retrofit. Get ready to pay more than what you’re probably thinking it’s going to cost.

I've lost a few rollers when the pocket door came off the rollers while installing and they slid off the rail. There was no way to retrieve them. Tell whoever installs your pocket door to put a stop at both ends of the rail to prevent the rollers from going into the abyss. I put a screw at end end of the rail.
I guarantee the door will come off the rol!ers.

I think it's like those pocket windows they used to put in women's jeans. But they must open hence a door.

It's a door that slides into a slot in the side of the door opening so it's concealed within the wall while it's open. You slide it out of the "pocket" to close it.

That just might be worth looking into. The jeans, not the door. I have no clue how to do the door.
