Sad news.

I just turned 8 the week before he took the first step on the moon. I remember it like it was yesterday. I was enthralled with the space program back in the Apollo days.

RIP

Sad news. Through it all he never let go of his integrity. He never sold himself for money or fame. That's what I'll remember and appreciate the most about the man, his integrity. That and the fact that he put a face and name to one of the most extraordinary moments in the history of man. And I got to see it happen live while sitting on the floor in my living room. I wonder how many fresh dreams were set in motion when he took that one large step.

This is the kind of thing that gets grown men choked up. In a war not fought on battlefields, but in the press and on paper, the cold war, Mr. Armstrong was one of our greatest hero's.
