Anyone else noticed that with over 2 billion spent on this election everything is staying pretty much the same? Obama is still the prez and it looks like the balance of power in both the house and senate is staying almost exactly where it was. Might see a shift of a seat or two in either body but no big changes.

This tells me that either the country is so strongly divided that we might see a real split in the country in our lifetimes (hopefully not soon) or that the people really want the government deadlocked because they do not trust either party to do the right things.

The balance of power definitely will shift. The federal government will continue to grow since all three branches have a vested interested in making it grow. The people (at least those of us who want to be free) lose power. POTUS will issue more executive orders, more mandates, more intrusion into our lives in violation of the Constitution. Get set to experience the US becoming a has been nation like those of Europe.

I find it ironic that the public is nauseated by the government, but they send the same exact people back up there.

your right, maybe Oklahoma could take the lead and replace our Reps with people who will negotiate and are moderates. Imhoff and the good Dr. need to go.

I know that's the mantra and all, but why is it always expected that the conservatives do all the "compromising"? The dims don't appear to be willing to give anything at all. Ever! That's not negotiating, that's called caving. And right now I'm not of the mind to work with them on a damn thing. Why just go more moderate? Why not just jump all the way across the isle and join them? Trying to be a little more socialist is not the key to winning.
