A couple years back I bought a Savage Model 11 in .223 for a really good price because it had a rust ring in the barrel. The gun looked almost new, and the blueing is perfect, so someone likely left a patch in the barrel.
I decided I would rebarrel it since Savages are pretty easy to do. Well, it got stuck back in a corner and forgotten for a bit.
Today I ordered a barrel from Northland Shooters Supply as they had the best price I found on Shilen barrels.
Specs:
small shank - sporter contour
22" barrel
.223 Rem. Wylde (same price as standard .223 Rem.)
1:8 twist - 6 groove
stainless match (lapped bore)
recessed crown
bead blasted finish
$405.31 shipped from Shilen to my front door.
