I keep seeing new calibers/rounds getting developed.
Looking at the ballistics of the bullets, and the velocities, would not those same calibers work in conventional cartridges like .243, .270 or 30-06? heck, they are all using the brass as parent cases for the most part.
You can reshape the necks, lengthen the shoulders, and so on.
What does that do for the shooter when you can take a standard round at 3K or a 6.5 what not
The new calibers shoot specific bullets, Would those some bullets work just as well in a 6mm or .243?
So is the answer the bullet or the rifle caliber that makes it a tack driver.?
