*BUMP for a dead thread

I picked up a SR1911 from Sooner Guns last week, still haven't shot it.
Whose an owner and what do you think about this gun?

I have one, everything a 1911 should be and nothing it shouldn't. A good friend that has a ton of 1911 expierence says my Ruger is the tightest best fitting factory 1911 he has ever handled.. When they become more available he is going to sell his Colt National Match and buy a Ruger.

Thats how I got mine, paid a little too much but don't regret it. I've been shooting while everyone is still waiting.

I got one and couldn't be happier. Put about a box of rounds through it yesterday. Its my first 1911 and I love everything about it.

Just repeating what he told me, he is a member but may not comment because he doesn't like to type. Am sure he has his reasons, one of the few people in this world I truly respect and admire.

I am a friend of Bob Reeves. I will be 73 years old in May. I can no longer see iron sights & the target at the same time. Some of you know what I mean.
Almost everything I shoot has some sort of optic. I can use some types of fiber optic sights. I can still use my Glock 21 with dual gohst rings.
In order to put fiber optics on my 1968 Colt National Match, I would have to machine dovetails in the slide. I bought this new & still have the box, factory target & papers. It still looks great. I'm sure it is worth a lot more than the Ruger, which has dovetails.
I am not saying the Ruger is as good as the Colt, but that it is better for me.
When the Rugers are available, & if they are as good as Bob's, I will sell the Colt, buy one, & put fiber optics on it.

Tom, that's quite understandable, but how bout keep the colt in the family and buy the Ruger. Need a son...........
