Thought it was an ingrown hair until one day about a week after I noticed it while digging at it I had blood and black pus running down my arm. Girlfriend at the time was a nurses assistant, and said "You need to go to the doctor". I wasnt convinced, but that night my body told me it was time. Some of the worst pain i have ever felt, my body felt like it was tearing itself apart. Went to the ER that morning, turns out I had a primary infection about 6" around the bite, and had a secondary infection that went down to my elbow and up to my earlobe. Doctor cut me open and drained everything out, ended up fitting about 3 feet of packing into my shoulder, looked like thick yarn. Said that if I had waited a few more days I might have lost my arm, or at least use of it. Pulled the packing out a few days later, and it eventually healed up. I now have a 1/2" scar that looks a lot like a smallpox scar, with a hollow spot under it. Fiddleback bites are no joke, that's for sure.</p></blockquote><p></p>
