It's been a long, long day, today, and this week has been just as aggravating. This may come off as cruel to some, but I urge you to read the whole thing. My uncle died last Saturday. Yeah, the first thing people go to is "I'm sorry". Well, don't be. I hated him with every fiber of my being. This is the same uncle that lived with my 88 year old Grandmother (his mother) for the last 14 years, with no job... living off of her social security. He literally sucked every penny from her. 14 years ago, when my Grandfather passed away, he made sure that she was taken care of, with investments and a nice sum sitting in the bank account. It was gone in 2 years to the uncle's new truck. The day my Grandfather passed, the worthless uncle stole his brand new pickup that my Grandfather had special ordered (in Candy Apple Red, none the less) two months before the series of strokes that killed him. Not only did he steal it, but he also wrecked it the next day while driving under the influence of meth amphetamine. If this wasn't enough, he then took almost all of my Grandfather's gun collection and pawned it (aside from the beloved Franchi 20 gauge and Winchester Pre-64 that sit in my safe today). Not just one or two guns... 34 to be exact. Everything from a Luger that was brought back by his father from the War (just a commercial, but still brought back from Germany), a GI Colt 1911A1 to a fine Browning shotgun. All of them, pawned, no doubt for pennies on the dollar for meth money. As if that wasn't enough, here is what really makes my blood boil... Last Fall, I went to visit the Grandmother... and I smelled a very un-mistakable smell. I go to the uncle and cousin's room and do some searching... yup, you guessed it... the sorry sacks of crap were cooking meth in my 88 year old disabled Grandmother's house. Shake and bake method too (the ones normally associated with the house fires). I took pictures, put everything back where I found it, and hand wrote the affidavit that put the two SOB's in jail. The funeral was today... I didn't go. I had more important things to do, like eating lunch with some buddies and going to the gun show. There was no way I would have been able to sit there and listen to people stand above that casket and try to say how good of a guy he was and how much he will be missed without losing my cool and punching a dead body. So, forgive my bitterness worthless uncle. You caused this family 20 years of misery, and thankfully, you're now gone. And a word to any sorry SOB that might have an addiction that causes this much grief to their family... you're a jack hole, and I hope you either wake up soon, or get the same misery in return. :blahblah: I feel better. Please forgive my pissiness tonight.
