I've thought long and hard about the "we must all stick together because we're next" argument, and it's true to a point. But like all oversimplified, catchy, one line arguments...it's not that simple, and falls apart under scrutiny. What about the "electronic hunting" where people have tossed around the idea of shooting deer via the internet? You can't sell me on supporting these ********s we have nowadays, fence ops included. I'll stand alone, and fall alone if I have to. Sorry, everybody is entitled to their opinion. I can't sell out my beliefs just because "we're all hunters". I think these guys are flaming toolsheds, I think fenced hunt ops are responsible for ecosystem damage, the spread of disease....and have accelerated the feral hog epidemic like adding kerosene to a fire. Among many other things, some less tangible but still have far reaching effects. They don't represent me, and I refuse to stand with them. My type of hunting being targeted happens if it happens. Me refusing to support these guys is not going to be the straw that broke the camels back. If it is, so be it. I just can't endorse it. If they unjustly outlaw hunting, I'd rather break that unjust law and remain true to what I think is right than support what I think is wrong just to have a louder voice. Flame away. I'm not drinking any Koolaid. Just because they shoot animals too doesn't make them my brothers in arms. And hey, maybe it's their fault for giving the antis such great material to bash hunters with. Maybe we should be mad at them for tarnishing our image. I was always taught to project a good image of hunting, and dissociate with those who don't. Leopold, Roosevelt, Pope, Young, Boone and Crockett are rolling in their graves.
