Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth. I’ve got a few I’m hoping break off whole sides, because they’re almost guaranteed to not get shot and therefore get another year of growth.

This was my buck last year...View attachment 181234

This is how he turned out with another year of growth...

Yeah, I was texting the guy that hunts to the south of us. Told him that he gets a pass from my son and I this year. We all agree that he could be a really nice deer next year.

Awesome! The shooting sticks next to her are a nice touch.

You like those? They have come full circle. I got those crutches from a knee surgery in 2000. Wife used them during rifle season after she broke her leg in 2002. 2 nieces used them for a knee and ankle then I used them in 2018 for knee replacement. Now my youngest is on them and they got bloody.

I picture scored it to net 170 but it may go higher. Very symmetrical.
I could be way off, because I’m more experienced guesstimating from game cam pictures on live deer. It’s different from kill pictures, because the points of reference can be skewed by angle and how far out it’s being held.

By the time it's done for real and after the drying time, somewhere between 175-180" I'm thinking. G2 and G3 were 11-12" and main beams were 26".View attachment 181270
DANG IT BOY!!! I KNEW IT!!! Congratulations on a REAL BOONER!!!:thumb:

By the way, “nets” are for fishing. I’m a believer that if he grew it naturally it counts.
