I save my money I didn’t spend on thousand dollars camo suits for guns and ammo.
My son bought me a Sitka jacket that I would have never bought myself.

It's crazy how expensive stuff has gotten.

Only reason I have some scentlock gear is because it was 50% off as a close out . . . . no way I would've bought it at full price. Everything else I have is the cheap stuff from Bass Pro or Academy.

After my Dad died in 2014, my Mom gave me a few of my Dad’s hunting shirts, and I started wearing one of his lightweight long sleeve camo shirts on every deer hunt. I’m not really superstitious, but I’ve killed 3 bucks over 170” with that shirt on. Just to be safe, I’m going to continue this “tradition”.:thumb:

Totally understand. My MIL gave me a sweatshirt with a small running deer on the left chest. The sleeves are about to come off of it. I wear it when I’m in ‘the mode’. It’s worked many times.

Ok, since you’re stepping down, I’ll take over.
I’m on a TX bowhunting message board that I use for it’s classifieds. Probably 90% of the members live in metro areas (Dallas and Ft Worth mainly) and use those “catch phrases” liberally, and I can’t stand to read hunting threads because of it. Evidently, many of them are well healed financially, and when they describe their gear, it sounds like an advertisement off the outdoor channel. I call them “GQ hunters”. Every glamour shot with a deer will have them camoed head to toe with black face paint carefully smeared on their cheeks. Many of them go out of their way to convince themselves and others how tough hunting is inside an 8’ fence.
Whatever floats their boat....:anyone:
Sounds like Safari Club hunters. Lol I cringed when watching one demo how to gut a deer and stabbed the knife into the gut to start the process. SMH.

First ever deer with a recurve. Killed a nice 10 point last year with a long bow that was my first traditional kill but this is the first recurve kill. Definitely puts a challenge in hunting but so worth it.
