That's just entirely stupid. My primary care doc has provided medical treatment while I was packing plenty of times. Heck, my chiropractor had done adjustments with me packing and didn't care one bit!

Got an MRI once and was told to empty my pockets on the desk. Freeked because I was pocket carrying. Told him, and he laughed. Said everybody in the place had their CC.

Sounds like some stupid anti was trying to be the boss. If the laws in the state said CC or OC was Ok, and an emergency, I'd hire JB.

Assuming the story is true, why the fuss? Because he is a part time cop? We should be "outraged" because an American was abandoned by his caregiver. That then begs the question; Do you support free enterprise?
