In thinking back on this thread, this season just seemed off. There weren't as many big bucks taken, and deer taken overall was down, unless people decided not to post every deer they took. I blame May's excess rain and the overabundant acorn crop.

There certainly was a good acorn crop this season. My yard is full of them.
I feel like I'm walking on marbles in my yard.
I agree MIH it was a strange season, fortunately I have 3 deer in the freezer, all doe, 1 with rifle, 1 with bow and 1 with my car...
That last one hurts. But, it's meat.

yesterday went to put out corn. I was looking at all the tree limbs broken and laying on the ground everywhere and come up with a idea I put scatter out all the corn just inside of the outside of the tree limbs that had fallen any deer getting corn will be bumping his antlers into tree limbs to get to the corn might work to knock them off we will see
Seems logical, although you may just anger the coons with it not being in a pile. Lol
