I carry mex habitually and a 1911 is still one of the flattest handguns ever made, and mex doesn't have all the weight outside the belt levering out and down.Same on the larger knives IWB or under belt...if carrying weight on a belt, I want an issue belt with suspenders.And I realize many folk cannot carry as I do, such as most folk with any thicker middles than me, which is the majority of the population handily beating my 32", with anything carried mex really digging in on them. But for me, a 1911 tucks right in, so much that even outside a tucked shirt, shirt blousing nearly completely hides it....while with the thick-slided Glocks, trying to carry that way just kills me, as if cinching a belt tight on a building block in my britches, and I don't see how anyone can carry one IWB AND with added hard plastic holster.Love the big ten....never owned one, but the height of cool.</blockquote>
