It's not ALL of them, it must be the ones around the larger cities. A couple of years ago I got nailed by one of the youngster OHPs out in the panhandle. Wayyyy out there between Guymon and Boise City. He had a perfect hiding spot picked out in a "divot" or depression in the highway right beside a bridge railing for a bridge that ran over a dry creek. Couldn't see him until it was way too late and my radar detector doesn't work if they ain't running it. Anyway I had just topped a hill and as is my usual mode I was "stepping it up" getting ready for the next hill. I like to "get it going a bit" while going down the hills so I can make it up the next one without the cruise accelerating on the way up. Saves gas this way! He clocked me at 78. It could as easily been 92. :lookaroun Hey those hills are long out there! He asked me if I knew why he stopped me. I said "yep" and handed him my SDA, DL and insurance. He said "where's the gun?" I said "right inside this door pocket right by your shins". He said "be right back". He came back with my written warning and asked what kind of gun it was. Nice kid that one was. Now the old OHP just south of Woodward was a bit different. He was completely professional but cut me no slack. Had to break out the checkbook at the courthouse on that one. :grumble:
