Just saw on the news that there was a shooting at the gun range near 36th and Air Depot. Not much for details other than the OHP was training there at the time and one victim was taken to the hospital by a trooper and the second victim was taken by ambulance. Nothing saying whether there victims were troopers or if it was a separate event that the troopers aided in.

OKLAHOMA COUNTY, Okla. – Scanner traffic says emergency crews are responded to two gun shot victims at Oklahoma County gun range near 36th and Air Depot Rd.

The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Department says Oklahoma Highway Patrol was practicing at the gun range today.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, one firearms instructor and one cadet in training were shot during a training exercise Monday afternoon.

Betsy Randolph, OHP spokesperson, said that the instructor and cadet were shot by the same bullet.

One victim was transported by an OHP trooper to the hospital. The other victim was transported by ambulance to the hospital in good condition.

Randolph says both victims have non-life-threatening injuries.

Glad they are going to be OK.

Wild ass guess on my part is cadet was handling weapon improperly, turned toward the instructor and discharged a round through off hand and bullet struck instructor in leg.
