Just a quick question gents. My sisters drivers license lists a PO Box address and she was told by a local gun store she couldn't purchase a pistol without a physical street address. I've never heard this and was wondering if it's true?
You can have a combination of government issued documents that satisfy the requirements, but ultimately the dealer can decide if he wants to accept it or not. No dealer is required to sell anyone a firearm. So a driver's license with a PO Box can be supplemented with a voter ID card or some other government issued document.

Lots of folks have PO boxes. My inlaws kept getting their mail stolen from the curbside box in a nicer section of Broken Arrow and decided to get a PO box.
You can produce a passport etc that lists a physical address to give the FFL.
I don't know why she has a PO Box address other than maybe it's because she's been a traveling nurse. She wants to settle back to OKC and has gotten an apartment but her license is still a PO Box. I told her to go and get a new license with her current address.
They probably won’t accept a passport either, since the only address it shows is one you’re instructed to write down in pencil.
Your don't undergo a background check showing place of residence before being issued a valid passport by the US Government? Is that what your saying?

Back in the day when I had a store this came up many times and the result was : The ID proved who they were. Then they showed 90 days plus of utility bills with their name to prove residency requirement.
Take utility bill and write "the service address" as place of residence.
