Your don't undergo a background check showing place of residence before being issued a valid passport by the US Government? Is that what your saying?

Correct - you only have to prove citizenship (e.g.; certified copy of birth certificate). Nowhere in the passport application process do you have to show proof of where you currently live. You do have to supply photo ID, for which a DL is acceptable, but they don’t record your address off that ID. You will have to show proof of residency if you choose to apply for the upcoming Real ID in place of your existing Oklahoma DL. The passport has a place on one of the interior pages for you to write your address in pencil in case it’s lost and the finder wishes to return it.

Let me quote my post.
"Lots of folks have PO boxes. My inlaws kept getting their mail stolen from the curbside box in a nicer section of Broken Arrow and decided to get a PO box.
You can produce a passport etc that lists a physical address to give the FFL."

From the ATF:
A combination of government issued documents may be used to meet the requirements of an identification document. For example, a passport which contains the name, date of birth, and photograph of the holder may be combined with a voter or vehicle registration card containing the residence address of the transferee in order to comply with the identification document requirements. A passport issued by a foreign government is also acceptable so long as it has all of the required information.

I guess I should have broken it down into more explanatory terms.
I knew what I was talking about. :D

Can an oklahoma FFL sell a shotgun to someone with a Texas drivers license as the ID ?
Yes, as long as the sale is legal in both states.

I discovered while buying a gun once that they put the wrong address on my DL. My house number is 914 and somehow they put 917. FFL asked if address was correct, I replied uhhhhh... no. They said had to match exactly. Fortunately I had a CCP with correct address, and they accepted that.

Long guns yes , handguns no assuming your state doesn't restrict your ability to purchase
This but technically some places you can buy and they don’t charge tax while sending it to your ffl. I’ve bought many handguns from BPS in Denison, TX they “ship” it to Durant and I go pick up from my ffl. Academy won’t do this though store policy…

Also a FFL or designated employee can hand deliver it to your FFL where you can pick it up if they so chose to it doesnt always have to be mailed. Say your at a gunshow and there is both Texas and Okla dealers then they can walk it over and transfer it that way.

I know this is an old thread, but my daughter was told last year at the Norman DMV that you can’t use a PO Box on your DL. She had to use my physical address in Cherokee which is just a 911 address, because it’s out of the delivery area for the Cherokee PO. The Norman DMV was hell bent to send my daughter’s driver license to my physical address even though she told them there’s no mail box. Needless to say, it didn’t get there, and she had to go back to the DMV to get a redo and got it sent to the PO Box the second time. However, the physical address is what’s printed on her DL. She’s living on her own now, and I think she’s going to get her DL changed to it.

Oklahoma has tag agents . They are private business contractors to the state in fact not until very recently did Oklahoma have a DMV at all . It was the Department of Public Safety they just in the last few years created an MVD.

We still don't have "DMV" offices . I know lots of folks with PO Boxes for their address on their drivers license , it sounds to me like a TAG agent didn't want to mail it to a PO box

ETA I just check the law hasn't changed you can have it on your license as long as your Drivers license application has your primary residence address listed
